» Data entries in openings
In the opening records we aim to put as much information as is available when we enter the record. Where there is a blank in a record e.g. opening date, this is because this has not been announced yet or we have not sourced the relevant piece of data yet. As more information becomes available this record will be updated, and there is a separate table below the openings which show the latest updated records.
The data on openings includes the region in which the site is opening. For the regions we use the Nomenclature of Territorial Units for Statistics (NUTS) codes of the UK, a geocode standard for referencing the subdivisions of countries for statistical purposes.
NUTS is used in the UK by the ONS, Government (national and local), research organisations, NGOs etc.
The 12 top level NUTS 1 regions are North East England, North West England, Yorkshire and the Humber, East Midlands, West Midlands, East of England, London, South East England, South West England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Click here for full details of NUTS and the NUTS 2 and NUTS 3 sub-divisions.
