Burger chain Phat Buns to open in Coventry

21 June 2021

Burger chain Phat Buns is to open its first branch in Coventry.

The smash burger specialist has been given planning permission by Coventry City Council to change the use of 27 Cross Cheaping in the city centre.

The unit, next to McDonald’s, was formerly occupied by betting shop JenningsBet but is currently vacant and a change of use was agreed this month to turn it into a seated restaurant.

Phat Buns was started in October 2019 in Leicester by brothers Oubed and Ahtesham Moosa and its new Coventry site will be its fifth store.

The chain currently has two sites in Leicester on Western Boulevard and Evington, one in Loughborough, and another in Sparkbrook in Birmingham.
