Megan’s reporting exponential growth coming out of lockdown and looking for a People Director and Ops Director & Manager

10 June 2021

Megan’s entered the first lockdown in March 2020 with seven locations and 197 team. The independent neighbourhood business has come out of lockdown 3 with 12 locations open and 500 team members. They are currently recruiting a further 100 team from chef to Operations Manager as well as looking to add two more senior board hires (People Director and Operations Director).

Prior to lockdown 1, Megan's was only located around South West London with all locations close to the original site in Kings Road. Over the last 15 months Megan's has spread her wings and opened their first site in North London (Islington), Surrey (Surbiton), out of London (St Albans) and their first park location (Clapham Common).

The business has big plans for growth and has therefore brought in a new management team to deliver this. Sarah Hills (formerly MD of Bills and Wagamama) and Gill Clements (formerly FD of Byron) both joined during the lockdown year creating one of the few all-female led businesses in the sector. Megan's is looking to further strengthen the team and is currently recruiting a People Director and Operations Director along with a further 100 roles from chef to operations manager.

Sarah Hills said "Megan’s is a wonderful business and it is an incredibly exciting time for us. We are one of the fastest growing businesses in the sector. We opened our second location at the end of 2017 and will open our 13th site this July in Wandsworth - Megan's in the Tonsleys. The support we have had from both our communities and our landlords has been incredible and has enabled us to continue to grow, creating jobs in our communities and opportunities for our wonderful teams as they develop their careers”.
