Murger Han to open in City today for third London site
15 September 2020Murger Han’s third location in London will open today, Tuesday September 15th, at midday.
London’s first Xi’an restaurant adds a City location to existing Mayfair and Euston locations at 9 Philpot Lane opposite the 20 Fenchurch Street building. The restaurant will open from midday to 10pm seven days.
Menu highlights include La Tiao Zi with Slow-Cooked Lamb, House Special Dry Beef and Cauliflower Noodle, Xi'an Special Braised Chicken and their signature Biang Biang noodles. Sides include Surf Clams and Tripe Skewers and don’t miss the clay pot dishes, a traditional way of cooking in the city home to the Terracotta Warriors.
The new location will unfortunately not open with their new breakfast menu as previously announced due to a delay in opening their central kitchen.
Owner Bin Li explains “We had hoped to open with a new menu including a daily Xi’an breakfast menu and a dedicated “Muslim Street Market” menu of traditional street dishes never seen in London before. Unfortunately, due to current issues with landlords, our central kitchen has not been completed in time and we could not wait any longer to open our third location that was due to open over six months ago. I hope that customers will be understanding and we look forward to bringing our Shaanxi flavours to a new part of the Capital.”
Murger Han opened in 2014 in Euston followed by Mayfair in 2016 offering with authentic Xi’an dishes made to family recipes.
The 1000 square foot site will seat 54 covers in a main dining room and 10 covers in a heated Chinese terrace and features an open kitchen where diners can watch their famed signature 12-foot Biang Biang noodles being hand-pulled.
