Proper Naughty Burger Co opened its doors for the first time recently inside the former Marria’s café and coffee shop in King Street.
Owned by Max Bray and Sam Burroughs, they aim to offer 'American fast-food' to to Weymouth locals and tourists.
The menu offers a blend of beef burgers, chicken burgers, vegan burgers, loaded fries and nachos as well as multiple sides including fries, chicken wings and halloumi fries.
A 'number of jobs' have been created at the new restaurant, including chefs and store assistants, with more roles are likely to be created when it starts offering deliveries.
The owners have taken over the King Street unit, which has been derelict for several months, and installed new branded signage and hoarding on the store front, with seating available with two benches in front of the takeaway and some seats inside.
Leon Williams, its kitchen manager and head chef, say the food will ‘enlighten peoples’ taste buds’ and ‘offer the town something it doesn’t have.’
Mr Williams added that the Weymouth store could be the beginning of the business’ expansion – with further branches planned for Bridport, Dorchester and other towns across the county.
