A new independent Belgian beer bar and bistro is opening its doors later this week.
Offering a taste of Belgium in the heart of Liverpool, new venue Belgica has set up shop on Wood Street.
Transforming the premises which was previously Lucha Libre, Belgica aims to become the place to go for the finest Belgian beers, authentic comfort food and good vibes in a venue that's "proudly run by Belgian Scousers and Scouse Belgians".
Split across two levels, the new venue aims to offer a relaxed Brussels beer bar atmosphere upstairs and a medieval Bruges vibe club downstairs.
Belgica hopes to transport visitors to the beer-loving nation from which the venue takes its inspiration, whether it's for a casual weekend dinner with friends or unwinding after work with a chilled beer over a board game.
The full food menu will be available from mid-December, with dishes ranging from classics like French onion soup, to moules frites - mussels with twice fried Belgian chips - and sourdough.
Unsurprisingly, beer will be the star of the show on Belgica's extensive drinks menu, with an impressive variety of Belgian beers categorised by their ABV strengths ranging from +5% ABV amber beers, up to +11% ABV quadruples beers.
Belgica will open on Friday, November 26.
