Bakery giant Greggs will be opening its 10th Derby store in a city suburb this summer. The retail chain is getting ready to open a new branch, which is set to be in Nottingham Road, Chaddesden.
The takeaway sausage roll giant is expected to take over the unit formerly occupied by car parts and accessories store Motor World, which closed down in August, last year. According to planning documents seen by Derbyshire Live, it will be located at Unit 5 at St Mary's Retail Park, joining other outlets including Subway, Morleys Schoolwear, and the Moza Indian restaurant at the complex.
Greggs already has three stores in the city centre including at Derbion, as well as branches at Kingsway Retail Park, Derby County's Pride Park Stadium and in the city suburbs of Allenton, Chellaston, Darley Abbey, and Mackworth. This will be the first store to open in Chaddesden.
Confirming the upcoming opening, a spokeswoman for Greggs said: “Greggs can confirm it will be opening a shop in Chaddesden, Derby this summer. We can provide you with further details when we have them.”
