Soon to be welcomed into a new Northern Quarter kitchen, Kong’s Chicken Shop’s is a step away from the loaded sandwiches and crisped to perfection fried chicken they’re generally known for.
Chef and Owner, Tom has revealed that his next venture, Kong’s Cantina, is set to serve up a Mexican-influenced menu of cheesy quesadillas and jam-packed tacos.
The restaurant will be moving out of its current space at Northern Monk Refectory after a year long stint and will be taken over by lasagne specialists Lazy Tony’s.
The Cantina is the sixth concept to be launched by the brand, which first emerged in lockdown after former CBRB bar manager Tom Potts found himself furloughed and with plenty of time on his hands to experiment with what he loves best.
After a successful couple of years for Kong’s, he now lays claim to the original Kong’s Chicken Shop, Kong’s Diner at Dogbowl, and the Kong’s Sandwich Shop at Hatch.
