Expansion plans for Hampton by Hilton in Blackpool

01 September 2020

Plans to significantly expand the Hampton by Hilton hotel in Blackpool have been recommended for approval.

The application is earmarked for a temporary car park previously occupied by the Warwick Hotel.

Proposed is a four-storey extension comprising 74 bedrooms. This would bring the total number to 204.

It would also include a meeting room, staff ancillary area, a service corridor linking to the existing back-of-house services and additional parking spaces.

A report to Blackpool Council's planning committee – which will meet today (1 September – said: "Economically, although hotels are accepted as main town centre uses, in the Blackpool context they are equally to be directed to the defined Holiday Accommodation Areas.

"As such, the scheme would not have an unacceptable impact on the established retail hierarchy and would maintain and enhance employment opportunities on the site."

Erection of a four storey extension to the hotel to form an additional 74 bedrooms; single storey rear extension, plantroom on the roof and additional parking spaces to the rear, with new access/ egress to the car park
