NH Hotel Group has announced that nhow London was a finalist in The Travel Marketing Awards 2020.

The announcement was made on Monday 8th March at the London Hilton on Park Lane. The Travel Marketing Awards recognise the most original, creative, innovative and best performing campaigns of the past year, as well as teams and individuals excelling in travel marketing.

nhow London was awarded a finalist in the category ‘PR Stunt & Experiential Event’for the Chameleon Stunt in London. For four days from 29th August to 1st September 2019, a colourful chameleon was positioned on top of The Old Truman Brewery in East London to mark the launch of the UK’s first nhow hotel, nhow London which officially opened on the 2ndJanuary 2020.

An incarnation of the brand’s spirit animal, the larger-than-life 8 metre colourful chameleon drew attention to the experiential and disruptive design concept that is characteristic of nhow. The chameleon was not only fun to look at for passers-by but served as an exciting preview into London’s hottest new lifestyle hotel.

“We are very proud that we made it to the final list of the prestigious Travel Marketing Awards. The chameleon is the embodiment of our design- and lifestyle brand nhow. Like a chameleon, our nhow hotels adapt to their surroundings and are truly disruptive, and our PR stunt in August 2019 supported this message”, says NH Hotel Group’s Stefanie Schubert,Director of Marketing, E-Commerce & Communication Northern Europe. “We wanted to reach as many people as possible and used the below-the-line approach to attract interest and raise awareness for our first nhow hotel in the United Kingdom”, explains Schubert.

Newly opened nhow London is situated on City Road, on the fringe of Shoreditch, long regarded as one of London’s most dynamic and creative hubs. The hotel plays homage to both the area’s industrial past and technological future. The eight-floor hotel houses 190 vibrant rooms, a restaurant conceptualised as a reinvention of the British pub, bar, gym and three meeting rooms called Laboratories.
