Mission Mars is planning to open a Albert's Schloss German bar and restaurant at One Chamberlain Square in Birmingham.

Billed as a ‘Bohemian bier pleasure palace,’ it has lodged planning permission to take a site on the new building's ground floor - part of the £700 million Paradise development.

The brand has applied for a late licence to serve alcohol every day until 2am.

If plans are approved, the large 13,000 sq ft site will join One Chamberlain Square's other eatery, Dishoom.

Albert's Schloss Birmingham will be the sister site to the flagship Albert's Schloss housed on the ground floor of Manchester's historic Albert Hall.

The Paradise development currently has two confirmed new restaurant openings - Rosa's Thai, which opens on Tuesday, May 18 and Vinoteco, which is due to open in the summer
