Edinburgh Food Hall Bonnie & Wild unveils latest bar venture with Isle of Raasay Distillery

Edinburgh’s Bonnie & Wild and Isle of Raasay Distillery have unveiled a new collaborative venture that sees the Hebridean distillery take over one of the popular Food Hall’s bars for the month of December.
Opening at the weekend, the Isle of Raasay Distillery bar at Bonnie & Wild aims to showcase the distillery’s range of Scottish gins and single malt whiskies, including its latest Dùn Cana Sherry Quarter Cask release.
The bar also offers guests a whisky flight meaning guests can try Raasay’s core range as well as a range of tailor-made cocktails featuring Isle of Raasay Gin and Isle of Raasay Single Malt, each one designed to show off the flavours of Scotland.
The Raasay launch also coincided with Bonnie & Wild’s White Heather Club ceilidh, which has proved a hit with locals and city visitors since the monthly dance launched last summer.
The Raasay pop-up bar is the latest in a series of collaborations at Bonnie & Wild, which aims to champion Scotland’s food and drink producers. Previous ventures include a Champagne and Oyster Bar in partnership with the venerable fishmonger Bernard Corrigan and the launch of the award-winning Southeast Asian restaurant brand, Okanda. During the Edinburgh Festival Bonnie & Wild hosted The Breakfast Club and gave over part of its entrance to the florist Ruby Flowers. More recently, it worked with national drinks wholesaler Inverarity Morton on the rebrand of its boutique bottle shop Rarity.
Bonnie & Wild’s Managing Director Ryan Barrie said: “We’re delighted to launch this latest bar takeover with Isle of Raasay Distillery, who produce an exceptional range of single malt whiskies and gin.”
Mr Barrie said that Bonnie & Wild has planned a line-up of bar takeovers, pop-ups and collaborations with other distilleries, breweries and food businesses in the new year.
“The Scottish Marketplace concept means we can give space, within Edinburgh’s fabulous St James Quarter, to these amazing producers and showcase the world-class products that are produced here in Scotland. With Raasay and other distilleries, it means we can generate a great synergy with our Rarity bottle shop, which is also running daily tasting events throughout December. Overall, it complements our main food offering brilliantly, and sits well alongside our programme of events. Guests coming to Bonnie & Wild really get the chance to explore the very many different flavours of Scotland.
