Yorkshire themed bar opening in Huddersfield

26 October 2020

A bar stocked only with products made in the Yorkshire is one of a number of new bars and restaurants opening Huddersfield town centre despite the Covid-19 hospitality restrictions.

The former restaurant Jax Bar & Tapas on King Street is set to reopen on November 4 as a Yorkshire bar packed with produce and drink including Three Fiends beers from Meltham and sourced from across the county.

Alson John William Street work is progressing on turning the former Thai restaurant, Siam Square, into a Turkish restaurant, Istanbul.

On the same street businessman, Matt Jones is busy giving the former Infusion cocktail bar a facelift in time for opening before Christmas.

Elsewhere in the town centre, Mark Robertson, who owns The Plumbers Arms is set to open a new wine bar next door which will also boast a cellar bar - the only hostelry in the town centre to do so.

He's also busy getting ready to open The West Riding pub on Albion Street too near Huddersfield Police Station.

Craft beer chain Brewdog has also announced a Huddersfield bar on Zetland Street but it is not yet known when it will be ready.
