New riverside bar and cafe Is coming to Tate Modern

23 June 2023

Tate Modern has an exciting new opening – and it’s not a new exhibition. Opening on July 7 is Tate Modern’s Corner, an all-day cafe and bar that will open onto an outdoor terrace.

Corner is a part of Tate Eats which overseas everything to do with food and drink at the Tate, and who’s profits are returned right back to Tate to support the gallery. There is a strong commitment to sustainability that is reflected in the food and drink menu and even the furniture, as Corner’s tabletops have been made reusing Tate Coffee grounds.

By day, Corner will be serving up sandwiches, salads, treats, and snacks which will all be prepared in the kitchens at Tate Modern. Sustainability is at the heart of Corner which is why the chefs and teams are working with suppliers who thoughtfully source local ingredients and focus on regenerative farming.

By night, the space transforms into an evening bar where you can choose from a selection of craft beers which champions independent UK brewers, and a selection of wine from the Tate’s award-winning wine cellars many of which are served from Keg in order to reduce carbon impact.
