Suffolk coffee company, Paddy & Scott’s, has opened a new coffee shop in the heart of the city of Durham, housed within the Marriott Hotel Royal County.

Paddy & Scott’s has taken over the coffee house from Starbucks, and transformed it into its newest branded outlet.

A bright, modern and eclectically-designed cafe, the new Paddy & Scott’s fuelling station is the perfect place to relax, meet friends, work or study, with comfortable seating options and plug points close to every table.

Alongside a range of delicious, ethically-sourced coffee, served by skilled baristas, the cafe will also serve a selection of sandwiches, salads, snacks and sweet treats throughout the day.

“We are very excited to expand our reach up north,” says Jon Reed, Managing Director at Paddy & Scott’s. “We began working with Marriott Hotel group in 2019 and are slowly bringing our iconic ‘wings’ branding to more of their cafes, whilst supplying them with our great coffee. This new site is brilliantly located in the heart of the city, which attracts a big student audience that we are very used to serving.”

James Marsh, general manager at the hotel commented: “We’re incredibly proud of our brand new Paddy and Scott’s coffee shop and we can’t wait for the people of Durham and beyond to try our great-tasting, sustainable coffee.”
