Sixes Social Cricket opening fourth site next week

08 December 2023

A new restaurant is opening in Guildford, but there’s a twist. Sixes Social Cricket may have a long food and drink menu, but its main focus is cricket. With nothing quite like it in the town, this new entertainment venue is opening just in time for a festive get together.

Soon to be in the Tunsgate Quarter, Sixes Social Cricket combines high adrenaline sports with a sit down meal. The new venue not only has a bar and restaurant but also has an area dedicated to playing cricket.

Inside the venue there are several nets, set up to recreate the experience of facing different bowlers from around the world. Everyone in your group will take turns to test their batting skills against their virtual opponent and try to rack up points by hitting targets. With challenge levels from beginner to world class there is no previous experience required and with sessions only £7 per person this is a cheapish way to test your skills.

The dining element comes before, during and after the cricket. Each slot at the net comes with an adjoining table so you can eat and drink while you play. Additional tables can be booked pre and post sport if you want more time. The menu is classic people pleasing food and is made up of burgers, pizzas and loaded fries.

Guildford becomes Sixes’ fourth and final UK launch this year, having also opened venues in Oxford, Southampton and Brighton respectively. With 11 locations nationwide this it the first one to open in Surrey. Next year, there are already plans to expand the Guildford restruant by adding three more nets to the three already inside.CEO and Co-Founder, Calum Mackinnon also has global ambitions and wants to help build the " world’s largest cricket party.”
