Murger Han to open in City for third London site

13 August 2020

Murger Han, the first restaurant to bring Xi’an food to London, is to open their third location in the City in autumn 2020. The site is situated on Philpot Lane opposite Sky Garden offering the unique flavour of Northern China to surrounding areas.

The 1,000sq ft site will seat 54 covers in a main dining room with a further 10 covers in a heated terrace with traditional Chinese decoration. An open kitchen allows diners to watch their famed signature 12-foot Biang Biang noodles being hand-pulled and a dedicated bar will serve Xi’an inspired cocktails.

New for the City branch will be a daily Xi’an breakfast menu (available all day during the weekend), Xi’an inspired cocktails served from a dedicated bar, and a dedicated “Muslim Street Market” menu of traditional street dishes never seen in London before.

Owner, Bin Li commented: "I started Murger Han to educate and provide Londoners with authentic Xi’an cuisine and the third location allows us to develop our menu and continue my dream. The new breakfast dishes, opening earlier, also expanding into a new neighbourhood in London, all give us more opportunity to serve proper eastern food to a western global market. The pandemic has hit my restaurant hard but we must keep fighting and move forward and this new opening is significant for me to demonstrate the strength of Murger Han for the future and for our customers”.
