Famously Proper undertakes roll out of chicken street food brand, Mother Clucker

17 November 2021

Famously Proper, the group that owns casual dining restaurant chain Byron Burgers, is about to undertake the biggest roll out of a foodservice brand in one day, with its recently acquired, fried chicken street food brand, Mother Clucker.

The brand will roll out to 18 towns and cities across England and Scotland on the 18th November and will be available to order via Deliveroo.

Delivery kitchens have seen a boom thanks to the pandemic, with many big brands launching dark kitchens during 2020/2021, and the appetite doesn’t seem to be waning, with London restaurants alone, selling an extra 900,000 meals a week via delivery apps. This is the reasoning behind Famously Proper’s decision to invest heavily in the rollout, and to instigate rapid expansion plans for more exciting launches during early 2022.

Mother Clucker has gone from being a one-man food truck in London’s Truman Brewery to a nationwide brand creating employment for scores of people. Bullish and confident of the brand’s ability to connect with consumers, Famously Proper also intends in investing in bricks and mortar openings, with a flagship site for Mother Clucker coming in early 2022.

CEO of Famously Proper, Gavin Cox, speaking about the expansion, said “We are extremely excited to be taking this cult favourite, street food chicken brand from one location in London’s Truman's Brewery, to over 18 nationwide destinations. We have very ambitious expansion plans for Mother Clucker. This will be one of the biggest roll outs of a brand within 1 day and we look forward to expanding rapidly, in the coming months!”
