The Duke of Rothesay, situated in the coastal village of Heysham in Lancashire, has reopened following a £250,000 investment by Punch, with new Publicans Kevin and Angela Lavin at the helm.

Following the refurbishment, the pub has improved facilities with more defined lounge, entertainment and snug areas for customers. With new furnishings, lighting and decorations throughout, the pub has a more inviting, warm and natural feel.

New Publicans, Kevin and Angela, have a wealth of experience in hospitality having owned and operated pubs, bars and restaurants in the UK and abroad for almost 20 years. They also own a popular coffee shop nearby and have a clear passion for providing an epic experience for their customers.

Speaking about the refurbishment Kevin said, “It’s great to be here at The Duke of Rothesay, the investment has really done the pub proud. We know this area well and we can’t wait to welcome customers old and new into their new look pub. We have lots of exciting plans to bring great food, drink and a warm welcome to everyone who chooses to spend their time with us.”

The community pub has launched with a new food menu which includes home cooked pub classics alongside a home cooked, all day buffet available seven days a week. The bar offers an extensive range of quality lager, cask and craft beers as well as a wide selection of spirits and wines for customers to enjoy.

Publican, Angela added, “We have so many exciting plans for the pub including regular live entertainment, karaoke and community events for all the family.”

Punch’s Managing Director, Andy Spencer added, “This is a significant investment by Punch in a well-established pub and we are extremely pleased with the business we’ve helped create. Matching this fantastic pub with great people like Kevin and Angela who bring a wealth of experience and expertise will ensure this impressive pub continues to operate at the heart of its community.”

Punch owns and operates 1,300 pubs across England, Scotland and Wales and is investing £34 million in its pub estate in the next year.
