The Admirable Crichton acquired in a pre-pack administration by Genuine Dining Co

The Admirable Crichton Ltd has been acquired in a pre-pack administration by Genuine Dining Co.

The up-market event catering company based in London, had been going through a turnaround and having secured a significant Middle Eastern contract looked to have secured its future. However, following the sudden and unexpected loss of that contract in August, the Board of Directors had to consider the position.

They approached UHY Hacker Young LLP in mid-September for assistance in marketing the business as a going concern and sale by way of a pre-pack administration. The marketing was conducted with the assistance of Lambert Smith Hampton and discussions took place with a number of interested parties.

Following a series of abortive offers, UHY have advised that a sale of the business and assets was achieved on to Genuine Dining Co. Limited on 5 November, following the appointment of Brian Johnson and Peter Kubik of UHY Hacker Young as joint administrators. The sale will preserve the jobs of the remaining staff and will keep alive an iconic name in the catering industry.
