A new Indian restaurant is set to open on Mutley Plain, in an empty unit which previously housed an estate agents.

A planning application to Plymouth City Council to change the use of 39 Mutley Plain from a 'mixed-use' property to a take-away outlet, which was initially rejected. The application was later edited, after comments from members of the community, to remove the take-away offering - and a new restaurant is now set to open in the unit.

An update on the Plymouth City Council planning website says the planning application for the premises has been granted "conditionally" and notes various comments from interested parties and members of the public.

But this week locals have spotted a sign on the window that reads "Indian Restaurant Coming Soon".
