The site of a former Chinese restaurant in Shrewsbury has been earmarked for a job-creating McDonald's venue.
ESN (Scotland) Ltd has lodged plans to demolish the former Dragon King restaurant on Old Potts Way to make way for an approximately 4,000 sq ft drive-thru destination.
The site is located close to three other detached leisure units occupied by Harvester, Cineworld and Nando's.
The proposals include the reconfiguration of the existing car park to facilitate the larger unit and drive-thru lane with an overall loss of 44 spaces to 414, including 18 reserved for blue badge holders and two grill bays.
It is anticipated that the project would create in the region of 60 jobs in a mixture of full and part-time positions.
A statement filed with Shropshire Council on behalf of the applicant said: Overall, the proposal is considered to be in an acceptable location, will increase footfall to this part of Shrewsbury in an established leisure park location and will create 60 new jobs.
"It will be capable of operating in a manner that is acceptable in overall planning terms."
Plans will be reviewed by Shropshire Council's northern planning committee on 24 May.
